Body of Woman Discovered at Carlsbad Lagoon Identified
The nude body of a woman found Sunday next to a Carlsbad lagoon was identified Thursday as the wife of an El Toro Marine.
The San Diego County coroner’s office said the body of Nancy Alison White, 22, was identified through dental records. The woman was reported missing Saturday, after her car broke down on Interstate 8 near El Cajon.
Her body was discovered by two children. Investigators believe that she was killed some place else and her body dumped by the lagoon.
Police said Mrs. White had driven to El Centro to visit her husband, Milton White, who was on temporary duty there. On the return trip to the couple’s Santa Ana home, the woman’s car began to overheat and she stopped to call for help.
A neighbor, another El Toro Marine, responded and found her unlocked car.
