PHILADELPHIA — A man hearing a jury pronounce him guilty of rape bolted, leaped through a closed courtroom window and fell six floors to his death.
As the 11th member of Common Pleas Court jury was being polled Monday evening, the defendant, Robert McPeake, 39, dashed about 15 feet to the window and smashed through the glass, authorities said. He could have been sentenced to as long as 60 years in prison.
