Recognizing his company’s explosive growth and the need to delegate some more duties, Leslie H. Wexner, chairman of the Limited Inc., announced the addition of three support divisions and presidents to lead them.
Heading distribution services will be C. Lee Johnson, whose responsibilities will include operation and expansion of the Columbus, Ohio, company’s sophisticated distribution complex and a recently announced $130.6-million expansion.
Charles W. Hinson will head the store planning division, overseeing the remodeling of stores and development of new sites. Jerald M. Dick, who joined the Limited as a vice president in 1982, will be responsible for acquisitions of retail merchandising space as head of the new real estate division.
Wexner said the changes would “allow our unique divisions to capitalize on our tremendous growth potential.” He noted that the company over the last five years has shown growth of 60% in sales and earnings on a compounded basis.
The company operates 2,397 women’s specialty apparel stores nationwide, including the Limited, Limited Express, Lane Bryant and Victoria’s Secret.
