Torrance : Training Funds Awarded
The Private Industry Council for Torrance, Carson and Lomita has awarded five contracts to provide job training for unemployed and poor people.
Los Angeles Harbor College was given a $36,000 contract to train 20 participants in word processing and general clerical; Computer and Related Technologies was awarded $18,000 for 10 people to learn office automation and computer assisted drafting; J & R Systems for Business received a $42,000 contract for 19 people to learn electronic office machine repair, and Los Angeles Unified School District was give two contracts totaling nearly $75,000 to train and place 37 people among 22 vocational areas.
