Odetics Inc., an Anaheim manufacturer of robotics and information-processing products, said that its Omutec division has received an order to supply Fairchild Weston Systems Inc. with 24 magnetic recording heads for the flight data recorders in the Navy’s F-14 fighter aircraft. The contract is worth about $400,000. Fairchild, headquartered in Syosset, N.Y., manufactures aircraft instruments.
Odetics said the contract calls for Omutec to send the magnetic heads to Fairchild’s Data Systems Division in Sarasota, Fla., where they will be used in recorders to be installed in the F-14s at Grumman Aerospace Corp. in Bethpage, N.Y.
