Altadena : Decision on Plan Delayed
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors decided to delay a vote on the West Altadena redevelopment plan when supervisors raised questions about the way it would be implemented and how it would affect residents.
The plan is designed to improve major streets in the area. Financing would come partly from community redevelopment block grant funds.
A spokesman for Supervisor Mike Antonovich, whose 5th District includes Altadena, said that Antonovich recognized the need for revitalization but said he had several questions about the impact of the plan and whether people would have to be relocated.
Antonovich, who suggested that the vote be delayed, has asked the Community Development Commission to present a summary of residents’ responses to the plan within 30 days.
