Torrance : Job Restriction Overturned

The City Council this week voted unanimously to repeal a 23-year-old ordinance that prohibited the employment of relatives in the same city department.
The city staff had recommended that the ordinance be changed only to allow relatives to work in the same department, but not in the same division of a department. But council members said department heads could deal with any potential problems.
