El Toro : El Toro Library to Close 2 Weeks for Expansion
- Share via
Summer reading may mean a bit of a drive when the El Toro branch library closes its doors from July 28 to Aug. 10 for expansion.
Library patrons are invited to visit another county branch library nearby during the two weeks. The Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano and Tustin branch libraries all will remain open.
The El Toro branch will be adding a children’s wing, two meeting rooms and a Friends of the Library bookstore, said Lynn Eisenhut, coordinator of children’s services for the Orange County Library. Although the library will reopen Aug. 11, construction will continue until the beginning of 1987. Friends of the Library raised funds by selling donated books, Eisenhut said.
Library books that are due during the construction will not be fined if they are dropped off a few days late at the book drop, Eisenhut said. But book fines that date before the start of construction won’t be forgiven. “This is not an amnesty week,” Eisenhut warned.
