Singer Andy Williams was ordered to stand trial on misdemeanor drunk driving charges by Redlands Municipal Judge John Arden, who set an Oct. 21 trial date.
Williams, who did not attend the hearing Thursday, was charged with one count of drunk driving, after being arrested Jan. 20 by California Highway Patrol officers in Redlands.
Prosecutors said Williams, a Beverly Hills resident, was stopped on Interstate 10 after he allegedly weaved his Rolls-Royce convertible in and out of traffic at speeds near 70 m.p.h. The CHP said Williams’ blood alcohol level was .17%. The legal limit is .10.
