West of the Moon

I thought Jerry Hulse might be interested to know the source of the quotation from the unknown author on the West of the Moon Cafe menu (Kauai, June 29). It is by J. R. R. Tolkien from “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, Book Three, “The Return of the King.” It is a song sung by Trodo Baggins as he rides through the woods on his way to the Grey Havens.

. . . I assume that Tolkien wrote the poem.
