Re: “ ‘Alice in Wonderland, Meet the Sierra Club.’ ”
Bravo! Colin Flaherty has paid his dues to the developers. He has sung for his supper. He can now walk with an inflated chest and say, “I guess I told ‘em! Those . . . those . . . those . . . Sierra Clubbers.”
It isn’t surprising he didn’t mention the hold on sewer hookups in North County. It isn’t surprising he didn’t mention the density problem that will raise its nasty head after the developers have taken their money and departed. It isn’t surprising he didn’t mention the water problem; to wit, you can’t bring an unlimited number of people into an area of limited water, unless you are prepared to talk in terms of canteens of water, per person, per day.
I haven’t had much to say about “Growth or Non-growth” in San Diego for reasons that aren’t relevant, but I am one “Sierra Clubber” who loves San Diego passionately! And I am proud of both.
