Wilshire-Fairfax : Disney Retrospective Set
The first complete retrospective of feature-length animated films by Walt Disney Studios is being presented through Sept. 27 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 5905 Wilshire Blvd.
The three-month film festival, entitled “Disney Magic: The Animated Features,†will include all of Disney’s feature-length classics as well as short subjects, rare footage from the Disney archives, and appearances at four seminars of animators, designers and voice-actors involved in the productions.
Seminars will be devoted to the making of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,†“Pinocchio,†“Fantasia†and the latest Disney release, “The Great Mouse Detective.â€
The films will be shown at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and on selected Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings at the museum’s Leo S. Bing Theater.
Tickets for each event are $5 for the public and $3 for members of the museum and the American Film institute, students with I.D. and seniors. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Bing Theater Ticket Disk, (213) 857-6201 or by mail, 5905 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles 90036.
