Actress Florence Halop, who plays a baliff on television’s “Night Court†series, was transferred to a Cedars-Sinai Medical Center unit for terminally ill patients. Hospital spokesman Ron Wise said Halop, 65, hospitalized after suffering a stroke three weeks ago, “has advanced cancer and it has spread.†The Hospice Unit provides terminally ill patients with a comfortable, home-like setting where they receive professional care without the clinical trappings of a hospital room, Wise said. Halop was cast as the court matron last year, replacing raspy-voiced Selma Diamond, who died in May, 1985.
