Police arrested five suspects after a 100-m.p.h. chase from Highland Park to Pasadena. Los Angeles Police Sgt. Jacob De Leon said the five, suspected gang members ranging in age from 14 to 22, were armed with broken bottles, knives and a shotgun when they held up 10 people at a park five miles northeast of Central Los Angeles, then stole an automobile and fled. The car was spotted by a police cruiser a few minutes later and the chase began--ending nearly 20 minutes later when the 14-year-old driver crashed the stolen vehicle into a police car. All were booked on suspicion of armed robbery.
