Steve Mariucci, who has coached football in three pro leagues as well as the college ranks, has been hired by USC as special teams coach. Mariucci, 30, also will help out with the team’s wide receivers, according to head Coach Ted Tollner.
Mariucci replaces Russ Purnell, who resigned during last season in the wake of revelations about recruiting infractions by the university.
