Data General will cut 500 administrative jobs.

The Westboro, Mass., computer maker said it included a $5-million provision in its third quarter ended June 28 for its reorganization and staff cuts. It also said it would increase jobs in its sales and engineering divisions by 15% to 20% in the next year.
