Santa Ana : Noise Complaints Bring Rock Show to Early End
Police stopped a heavy metal rock concert Saturday night at Eddie West Stadium after it drew complaints of loud noise, a police spokesman said.
Initially, police attempted to get the show’s promoters to turn down amplifiers from a bevy of metal rock bands, Sgt. Brian Collins said.
But when that didn’t work and complaints mounted, including some to City Manager Robert C. Bobb, police closed the concert about 11 p.m., around seven hours after the marathon heavy metal bill began.
Among the groups performing Saturday were Poison, Leatherwolf, Hurricane, Royal Teaze, Smashed Gladys and Warrant.
Police made two arrests, one for public drunkenness and another for assaulting a police officer.
No injuries were reported.
