In Honolulu, a mistrial was declared in the bribery case against Walter Murray, a second round draft pick of the Washington Redskins, after the jury reported that it was deadlocked.

Murray, 23, a former University of Hawaii wide receiver, was accused of offering a Honolulu police officer two tickets to a Hawaii football game if he overlooked two traffic violations.
