NEW YORK — Ohrbach’s 12 apparel stores, including the well-known flagship building in mid-Manhattan, are being discontinued after 63 years of operation under that name, it was disclosed today.
Amcena Corp., the American arm of the Netherlands-based Brenninkmeyer interest which has owned Ohrbach’s for 24 years, said the main midtown store on 34th Street will close its doors in February. Amcena said that the six Ohrbach stores in the Los Angeles area will be offered for sale, but will remain open until a sale has been completed.
