A sobriety roadblock on the city’s Eastside snared 35 motorists suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, Los Angeles police said. About 600 drivers passed through the checkpoint at 1st and St. Louis streets and officers administered field sobriety tests to 50 of them. The operation was the fifth in a series planned for the central metropolitan area.
