Mike Fetters of Pepperdine shared West Coast Athletic Conference pitcher-of-the-year honors with Tim Layana of Loyola Marymount, according to Michael Gilleran, conference commissioner.
Other Pepperdine first-team selections were outfielder Steve Kirkpatrick, who had a .349 batting average, and pitcher Tony Lewis, who was 9-3 with an ERA of 2.52 and 64 strikeouts in 114 innings.
Second-team selections for Pepperdine were third baseman Paul Faries, shortstop Andy Stankiewicz and outfielder Rick Hirtensteiner.
Esther Hiller of Encino shot a hole in one at Rancho Park Golf Course. Aces at Rancho’s nine-hole layout were made by Marshall Jones of Malibu, Mark Elkan of Encino, Sol Stahl of West Los Angeles and Al Gollack, 84, of Culver City.
