Chrisco Wins Main Event in Speedway Cycle Races
Keith Chrisco of Whittier won five straight qualifying heats and then won the scratch main event of Friday night’s weekly speedway motorcycle races in front of 4,792 fans at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
The only race that Chrisco failed to win was the handicap main, where he finished fourth behind San Clemente’s Brad Oxley, Huntington Beach’s Alan Christian and New York’s Tuff McBride.
In winning the scratch main, Chrisco snapped Oxley’s two-race scratch main win streak. Oxley finished third in the featured event behind Colton’s Mike Faria. Steve Lucero of Riverside was fourth.
In a feature match race, Costa Mesa’s Bobby Schwartz won two of three races over Oxley. Christian won the scratch consolation race, and Santa Ana’s Robert Pfetcing won the handicap consolation race.
