Shanties Protesting Apartheid Damaged at Utah University

SALT LAKE CITY — Three shanties built on the University of Utah campus to protest the school’s investments in South Africa were torn apart early Thursday, but the students who made the structures pledged to rebuild them.
Thomas Price, co-chairman of Students Against Apartheid, said the shanties were damaged when they were left unguarded for about 20 minutes shortly after midnight.
