A Moorpark man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his roommate, Ventura County sheriff’s investigators said Wednesday.

Thomas Paul Wynn, 22, was arrested about 9 p.m. Tuesday at his residence in the 6400 block of Yale Avenue, Sgt. Gary Backman said. Inside, deputies found the body of Robert Lantz, 36, who died from blows to his head, Backman said.

Deputies went to the house after they were contacted by an unidentified caller who was concerned because Lantz, a chemical engineer, had missed work for at least two days and had not answered his telephone, Backman said. Lantz’s place of work was not known, he said.

An autopsy determined that Lantz could have been dead for as long as three days, Backman said.

“We have no idea what the motive is at this point,†he said. “We seized several items from inside the house that might be the weapon.â€

Wynn, who identified himself as John Anderson when he was arrested, was being held on $250,000 bail in Ventura County Jail in Ventura, authorities said. His arraignment was scheduled for Friday.
