Division II Individual Finals Open

Freshman Christina Bokelund of Southern Illinois Edwardsville and defending champions Sandra Elliott and Nancy Roe of Northern Colorado are seeded No. 1 for the NCAA Division II women’s tennis individual singles and doubles championships.

The tournament begins today at CSUN.

Four Cal State Northridge players--Karen Frawley, Susan Campbell, Missy Conn and Kelly Grattan--were named to the 32-player singles draw, although none are seeded among the top eight.

In the 16-team doubles tournament, Campbell and Conn were seeded No. 3 behind Elliott and Roe and Bokelund and Portia George of Southern Illinois. Frawley and Grattan also were named to the draw.

Elliott and Roe beat Campbell and Cindy Woodhaus in last year’s doubles final, 6-1, 6-3.
