Mike Beech, the UCLA redshirt freshman football player who was seriously injured April 18 after falling on his forehead from a second-story balcony, was released from UCLA Medical Center.

Beech, 19, has made dramatic progress since the accident, in which he suffered a broken nose and skull bone, multiple facial fractures and brain bruises. He underwent 14 hours of surgery after the fall, which occurred at an off-campus fraternity party.
