A 9-year-old Arleta girl who was hit in the face by a baseball at Dodger Stadium is suing the Dodgers, claiming that the stadium provides baseball fans inadequate protection from batted balls.
Shannon Hope and her parents, Lynda and John Hope, claim in their Superior Court suit that the Dodgers and team president Peter O’Malley “had a duty to protect their patrons from batted balls.â€
Sam Fernandez, lawyer for the Dodgers, said he had not seen a copy of the suit but said each ticket specifically exempts the team from liability due to foul balls.
The suit, which seeks unspecified damages, did not explain the extent of her injuries.
