Calculated Risk by U.S.
Bravo for Ellen Goodman, one of the few columnists who warns that our “go-it-alone†strike against Libya only increases terrorism and the risk of war.
I agree that this bombing has much more to do with getting the American people used to military adventures than it has to do with eradicating terrorism.
Actions speak louder than words. If the President were really against terrorism, he would end funding the contra terrorists in Nicaragua.
If he were sincere about ending the nuclear arms race, he would halt nuclear testing, and stop the “Star Wars†program that puts first-strike weapons in the sky.
I would like my country to be the leader in peacemaking negotiations and diplomatic and political solutions to world problems, not the big power with the big stick.
