Cybernetic Data Products of Chatsworth named Lewis...
Cybernetic Data Products of Chatsworth named Lewis Solomon chairman and chief executive. Solomon, formerly senior vice president of General Instrument Corp., will be based in New York, where the company plans to launch its SilentRadio service soon.
SilentRadio is an electronic billboard presenting news, weather, sports and some advertising in banks and other public places. Cybernetic Data President Maxwell N. Fox said his privately held concern has never had a chairman before but has grown to about $7.5 million in sales and needs one now. He also said it wants to win more advertising, and New York is the center of that industry.
Fox said he used to work for Solomon at General Instrument, which owns the largest stake in Cybernetic Data. Solomon also was a partner in Alan Patricof Associates, a New York-based venture capital firm that owns a big stake in Cybernetic Data.
