Fluor Corp. said its Telecommunications Services unit received a $2.25-million contract to design and engineer an advanced radio relay station in Thailand for use by the Voice of America. Work on the station, located about 350 miles northeast of Bangkok, is under way and is to be finished in September, Fluor officials said. The project is part of a $1.3-billion U.S. Information Agency program involving construction of new transmitters in Morocco, Sri Lanka and Puerto Rico for broadcasts to developing countries. Fluor is an Irvine-based engineering, construction and natural resources firm.
