Martina Navratilova was granted a visa to return to her native Czechoslovakia for the first time since she defected to the United States in 1975.

Navratilova is part of the U.S. team that will compete in the Federation Cup matches in Prague next July. Other members of the U.S. team are Chris Evert Lloyd, Pam Shriver and Zina Garrison.

A year ago, Navratilova was denied a visa to return to Prague to see her family and “just to go back and get over the shock of being away for 10 years.�
