A distraught mother stabbed her 5-year-old daughter to death at their apartment in the 600 block of South Laura Avenue in La Puente. Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies investigating reports of screaming discovered Irene Isaguirre dead of multiple stab wounds and arrested her mother, Rosa Alvarez, 29, on suspicion of murder. Neighbors told deputies that the mother had been upset due to marital difficulties.
