After six years in the courts and $1.2 million in legal fees, the city of Oakland should consider giving up attempts to get the Raiders football team back from Los Angeles, several law experts interviewed by the Oakland Tribune suggested.
But Oakland’s attorney in the case, David Self, said the city should appeal last month’s unfavorable lower court ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court--claiming it would be cheaper to appeal than pay the Raiders’ $4 million in legal costs.
