Officials of the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove have dropped plans to build a $20-million, six-story leadership training center that has been opposed by neighbors, it was reported. Instead, church officials said, the church will buy the three-story, “Hour of Power” building across the street, where the Rev. Robert Schuller’s program is televised, for $5.5 million. The “Hour of Power” will lease an office building nearby, President Jim Coleman said. Plans are also under way to build a cemetery on Crystal Cathedral property, the Rev. Herman Ridder said.
