A 66-year-old woman, overcome by smoke and at first believed dead, was dragged out of her burning Highland Park home by three unidentified men, a Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman said. Paramedics arrived a short time later and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Beatrice Huizing, who was later reported in critical condition at Sherman Oaks Medical Center. Officials said the fire, started by inflammable material placed over a floor furnace outlet, caused $5,500 damage to the home at 849 W. Walnut St.
