The Orange County Human Relations Commission will make awards Saturday to 19 men and women whose contributions to human rights activities in Orange County have been noteworthy. The 1986 honorees will be saluted at a special awards banquet, marking the commission’s 15th anniversary at the Brookhurst Community Center at 2271 W. Crescent Ave. in Anaheim. Supervisor Ralph Clark, chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, will address the gathering, which will be translated into Spanish and sign language.
Besides Odeh, the commission’s 1986 honorees include Filomeno Del Real, Dr. Howard Waitzkin, Judy Naslund, Phyllis Knight, Mike Buelna, Rev. D. Dennis Chappell, Marie Mathias and Salvador Sarmiento.

Tickets to the event are available at the commission’s office, (714) 834-4796.
