I deeply resent a recent episode of “The Facts of Life†which more than implied that a lounge performer in an Atlantic City or a Las Vegas casino is, at the very best, mediocre. Try telling that to Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers! I first saw this group in a downtown Las Vegas lounge show for a $5 cover charge. A year later, Gatlin and his group were the headliners in a well-known casino on the Strip. The price: $50. So don’t imply to me that lounge singers are second-rate! I know better.
