State JC Basketball Tournament : Harbor Still Has Difficult Task
Los Angeles Harbor College has already knocked the No. 1 team out of the state playoffs, but the Seahawks still have some difficult times ahead in the community college state basketball tournament at Cerritos College in Norwalk.
The Seahawks upset No. 1 Cerritos in the second round, 74-67. But they now have to contend with the No. 2 team.
Harbor, with a 21-11 record, will play City College of San Francisco, 29-2, the new tournament favorite, at 9 p.m. tonight in the quarterfinals.
The tournament includes four teams each from the Northern and Southern Divisions. Semifinals will be played Friday, starting at 6:30 p.m., and the final is set for Saturday night at 7:30.
In other quarterfinal games, Pasadena, 23-1-0, will play Sacramento, 23-7, at 3 p.m.; Contra Costa, 28-6, will play Santa Barbara, 20-10, at 5, and Los Angeles Southwest, 28-4, will play Skyline, 24-6, at 7.
