MANILA — Ferdinand E. Marcos’ missing presidential yacht returned to Manila today, nine days after the deposed leader fled the country. Navy officials said the yacht never left the Philippines.
They said the oceangoing Ang Pangulo (The President) had been secreted at a government shipyard 25 miles south of the capital “for safekeeping.” It had sailed hours after Marcos’ departure, and there had been speculation that the vessel might have gone to Hong Kong or further afield with possessions of the Marcos family.
