Nestande Switches Candidacy

SACRAMENTO — In 11th-hour maneuvering forced by a fund-raising handicap, Orange County Supervisor Bruce Nestande today switched his Republican candidacy from lieutenant governor to secretary of state.
Nestande’s ability to raise money for the heavily contested GOP primary for lieutenant governor and a battle against the Democratic nominee in the general election was crippled when a court last year applied an Orange County fund-raising limit to his statewide campaign, said Nestande campaign manager Ron Rogers.
