CSUN Wins 6th in Row at Chico Tournament
The Cal State Northridge softball team won its fifth and sixth straight games in the opening round of the Chico State tournament on Thursday.
CSUN defeated Chico State, 6-2, in the first game, then beat UC Davis, 2-0.
Against Chico State, the Matadors (8-3) scored five runs in the first inning. Kelly Winn led the outburst with a three-run triple. She later had a double and finished with four runs batted in.
In the second game, CSUN was led by Kathy Slaten (3-0), who struck out seven and pitched a four-hit shutout for her first complete game. The Matadors scored two unearned runs in the fourth.
