Home Exemption Notices to Be Mailed
About 334,000 Homeowners’ Exemption Notices are being mailed to San Diego County homeowners who have claimed the exemption in the past year, County Assessor Gregory Smith announced.
The exemption amounts to $7,000 of the assessed value of a homeowner’s principal place of residence, resulting in a tax savings of about $70 a year.
About $25 million in property taxes are exempted in San Diego County each year, Smith said.
