El Toro Falls to Santa Monica, 65-47

Keith Harris scored 18 points and pulled down 14 rebounds Friday night to lead Bay League champion Santa Monica past El Toro, 65-47, in a CIF Southern Section 4-A basketball playoff game at Santa Monica.
Harris, a 6-foot 6-inch senior who plans to attend the University of Kansas next season, made 9 of 16 shots from the field. He also had 4 steals and 3 assists to pace the Vikings (22-3).
El Toro, the South Coast League’s third-place team, was within six points at the half, trailing 27-21, but the Vikings opened the third quarter with an 8-0 spurt in the first 2:35. Guard Jeff Stone of El Toro (14-12) scored 16 points, including 11 in the second half.
