Arbor Day Volunteers Sought: If you have a “green thumb,” a shovel and a strong back, your assistance is needed to help plant 600 trees at Laguna Lake Park as part of the city’s 16th annual Arbor Day observance March 8. Volunteers are asked to bring their own pails and should be prepared to put their shovels in the ground at 9:30 a.m. The group will meet at the southern entrance to the park at 3120 Lakeview Drive. In case of rain, the planting will be done March 15. Hughes Aircraft Co. will provide lunch for volunteers. Those wishing to participate are asked to submit their names by March 5 to Cynthia Holtz in the city’s Community Services Department. Registration forms may be obtained by calling Holtz at (714) 738-6575.
