A Cleveland, Ohio, man was arrested in Bedford, Pa., after allegedly harassing and trying to force off the road a chartered bus carrying the Duquesne University basketball team.
Brian Aufmuth, 25, was charged by state troopers with driving while intoxicated and hit-and-run driving after his car had allegedly sideswiped a tractor-trailer operated by Theodore Ervin, 54, of Valparaiso, Ind.
That accident reportedly occurred late Saturday after a motorist had followed Duquesne’s bus for about eight miles on Interstate 70, repeatedly passing it on the left and the right while trying to force it to the shoulder.
When he finally succeeded in stopping the bus, Duquesne players and coaches convinced the bus driver to back up and pull away as the man walked toward the vehicle.
The incident occurred as Duquesne’s team was returning to Pittsburgh from a 78-70 loss to George Washington in Washington.
