Local News in Brief : 2 Children Trapped Between Cars Hurt
A 10-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl were in Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills after they were sandwiched between two cars Sunday in Van Nuys, Los Angles police said Monday.
Daniel Palomares, 43, of North Hollywood was charged with felony drunk driving in connection with the accident, Officer Rick Vigal said.
The children, Manuel Villatoro and Guadalupe Rojas, were walking on Victory Boulevard just east of Vesper Avenue about 5:30 p.m. when a car driven by Palomares hit the back of a parked car, trapping the youngsters between the vehicles, Vigal said.
