Brea : Anniversary Celebration to Honor Oldest Citizen
- Share via
The City Council will celebrate the city’s 69th birthday at its Tuesday meeting.
Festivities will include a proclamation honoring Estella Mitchell, 101, who has lived in Brea since 1912, five years before its incorporation. The proclamation will be accepted on Mitchell’s behalf by her daughter, Katherine Wise, who was born in Brea the same year that the city was incorporated. The council is inviting other residents born that year who still live in the city to participate in the celebration.
Brea was incorporated Feb. 23, 1917, Rhine said.
The celebration will take place at 7 p.m. in the council chambers of the Civic Cultural Center. Residents planning to attend are asked to call City Clerk Bonnie Dwyer at (714) 990-7673.
