Santa Ana Resident Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident
A Santa Ana man was killed Saturday when his car went out of control, hit a curb and then struck a tree, Irvine police said.
Police Sgt. Jim Broomfield said Michael Ballard Solis, 37, was driving west on Barranca Parkway about 10:45 a.m. when his car went out of control shortly before reaching Milliken Avenue. The vehicle hit the south curb of the intersection and bounced into a tree.
Officer Jim Potts and a passer-by removed Solis’ body from the car, which had caught fire. Solis was pronounced dead at the scene.
