Garden Grove League : Bolsa Grande Uses Balance to Overcome Santiago, 71-58

Bolsa Grande’s starters all scored in double figures Wednesday night as the Matadors defeated Santiago, 71-58, in a Garden Grove League game at Bolsa Grande. Tom Afdahl paced the Matadors (6-1, 13-6) with 17 points, and Joe Small contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds. Rick Burns of Santiago (0-7, 3-15) led all scorers with 32 points.

BOLSA GRANDE (71)--Brown 12, Cao 10, Afdahl 17, Nguyen 13, Small 14, Trechsler 4, Arnold 1.
La Quinta 58, Garden Grove 56 OT--Arri Buford, who had a cast removed from his hand just three hours before the game, hit a 10-foot jump shot with one second left in overtime to give the Aztecs (3-4, 6-11) the win at home.
Eric Ramsey led the Aztecs with 14 points and 6 assists. Jeff Finch led the Argonauts with 10 points.
GARDEN GROVE (56)--Contreras 8, Kanegae 8, Lorenz 8, Kiefer 12, Finch 10, Fournier 4, Woodward 6.
LA QUINTA (58)--Ramsey 14, Whitcomb 11, Bennett 15, Recktenwald 7, Joe 4, Buford 7.
Rancho Alamitos 60, Los Amigos 41--Randy Morales scored 22 points and Roger Carter added 21 points as the Vaqueros beat the Lobos. Steve Davis led Los Amigos with 13 points.
