The Columbus Citizen-Journal is shutting down.
The final edition of the 120,000-circulation morning newspaper in Columbus, Ohio, was to be published today. The C-J reported that a Bath, Ohio, businessman had given up his efforts to purchase the paper from Scripps Howard, the Cincinnati-based media group. Since 1959, the Citizen-Journal has been published under a joint operating agreement with the Columbus Dispatch.
